Description
Tungsten heavy alloy, also known as high density tungsten base alloy, is specially made by adopting tungsten as matrix and adding nickel, iron, copper and other metal components in appropriate proportion. In terms of the alloy, tungsten content commonly accounts for 90% and the relative density is above 17g/cm3. Tungsten heavy alloys can be divided in two major kinds: tungsten nickel copper alloy system and tungsten nickel iron alloy system. They all comply with Standard ASTM B777-99.
Application
1. Tungsten heavy alloys are mainly applied in damping devices, conventional weapons, radiation shielding devices and parts.
2. High density tungsten base alloys are also used for die mold in machinery manufacturing, flywheel and automatic watch pendulum.
3. They're also adopted in electrical equipment contacts and electrodes, etc.
